| no partners | | Since a few other hazzers have landmarks named after them and this places only name is 5274' I figured I'd proclaim it as my own and name it after myself.
Also the fact I can walk there from my front porch added to my motivation of the renaming process.
There is a well groomed trail that someone put great effort to make that begins in my neighborhood and leads up and over the mesa.
The abundance of elk that I see every time I am back here help maintain the trails and are less timid than elk that hang out in more remote areas.
I had the great honor of meeting with legendary photographer Nick Berezenko at his family cabin Sunday morning to talk photography and listen to his stories of places he hiked in AZ before I was even born.
So the fact I had that memorable opportunity and later in the day had the chance to take a few photos implementing what he taught and shared with me made this a very special Sunday. |
