Arrived around 3am and spent about an hour trekking through the snow trying to find the right spot to set up my gear. It's always tricky trying to get the camera gear set up after dark, and freezing temperatures and deep powdery snow only complicated the task. Once I got the camera set up I crawled into my sleeping bag and dozed off as I watched the stars move overhead.
Once it began to get light out I moved the camera and started to get shots of Mt. Hood from various angles until the sun finally lit up the summit, then I packed up my gear and headed home. Nice way to spend the solstice. |
