Routine obsessive map searching led to one of my best satellite imagery finds to date and a trip was immediately put into motion.
Knowing there was no easy or short way to get to my destination of desire I knew it would be a long day and was eager to take on the challenge.
Perfect weather and conditions but still had to pack extra water and leave the pups at home because of the rugged terrain and lack of surface agua.
Upon finally reaching the ruins I was immediately in awe, the sheer square footage the walls covered were truly unreal.
Something that can only be comprehended and appreciated in person, pictures will never do justice.
The research papers I read and stories I learned about before the visit made the experience even more memorable, truly a privilege to visit such a site.
Afterwards I came across the find of a lifetime, pushed my bodies peak physical capabilities because of it and hiked many miles out in the dark under a beautiful near full moon.
The marvelous Mazzies strike again. |
