| partners | | We wanted to hike in some snow and Wrightson seemed like a good choice. It had been a few days since the last snowstorm so there were tracks from others all the way to the summit. We were able to use micro spikes the whole way which made for a slip free enjoyable hike. Above Josephine Saddle the snow got a lot deeper on the north slope in the switchbacks but was still packed down and perfect for the spikes. Once above Baldy Saddle the snow was the deepest and actually had some minor post holing but still manageable. Final switchbacks to the summit had less snow being on the south side. Once on the summit it was very windy and cold so didn't stay long before heading back down. The hike down was fast and very nice with the micro spikes. Arrived back at the vehicle about 4pm. Solid day and ran into 11 others doing the summit in the snow as well. One of them was @Norb great to see Joel again and chat for a bit |
