Pretty challenging hike. I didn't summit Wrightson until 4pm. My YakTrax crampons weren't really cuttin it . . . might just be the wrong size, though. There was a small portion making the final ascent up Wrightson where I could've benefited from an ice axe, and past Armour Spring, I was achin for snow shoes a bit. Snowed on me during the hike, too. I heard the rangers were looking for an 83yo man who had been missing in the area since Friday. Found a great spot to camp near an unnamed spring, though. I'm planning to do an overnighter there for President's day weekend. Might end up doing the Supes instead though . . . kinda cold.
Steepest, most challenging part of the trail for me was taking the Pipeline trail north off the Super trail through Roger's Rock connecting up to the Four Springs trail again.
Sun 9:30 am
Got started at the Bog Springs Campground. Was disappointed to see this is a fee area . . . didn't remember that mentioned in the hike descriptions I had read. I have a Nat'l park pass anyway though, so I was golden. Bog Springs Campground had ~5 parking spots labeled "trailhead parking." I mosied over to Bog Springs trail from here.
