| no partners | | Since my weekend backpack didn't come together, my bro drug daddio and I out to the Prescott area. Pretty cold today. It was snowing most of the hike. I used microspikes this time, but they did not perform well. Large, hard ice balls would build up on the heel. So we ended up doing the hike without crampons, and that was sufficient. Really I think the Yaktrax would've performed better in this situation, but more research is necessary here. Saw some White Alder and Arizona Cypress trees. Even saw a prickly pear cactus at 7300ft . . . .
Road in was pretty tough to traverse. I wouldn't do it without 4x4 or chains. We got through with AWD and chains. |
