| no partners | | It's definitely a bumpy drive back. The access to the actual trailhead parking lot requires high clearance... But I had to park in one of the several pullouts along the road because the lot was full anyhow. Other than the parking lot, I saw several passenger cars along Dry Creek Rd. I'm hoping they were rentals, because I wouldn't have taken a car back there. My 2wd Tacoma made it no problem. Just make sure you've got some good tires.
The hike is beautiful. There was water in several parts of the creekbed, but it was mostly stagnant. I didn't see a soul past the Miller junction. In my opinion, Secret Canyon doesn't get good until you pass the junction, but most people seemed to be doing the Bear Sign loop. Ah well. It was nice to get out and do a real hike. I haven't done anything significant in month or so. |
