| partners | | After a fun night of camping, we met up with Kyle over on Rattlesnake Ridge and headed down Beaver Creek. I spotted 8 elk and 2 deer on the day. After seeing plenty of prints, we finally ran into the biggest black bear I've seen this side of Yosemite. Of course I didn't have a better camera with me, and this one decided to stick around and watch us curiously instead of running away. Oh well. Woulda been nice to have some better pictures, but whatevs.
We turned around at the crossing and headed back the way we came with plans to meet up with fotg and blanco. We hiked together the last few miles back to the trucks. It was 48 degrees when we drove away, with a few inches of snow expected by tomorrow. Last year at this time the forest was going into fire lockdown. It's nice to see it this way at the end of May. |
