I also wanted to hike up to where I had stopped last Memorial Day weekend when I hiked the Flume Trail in the Cave Creek Recreational Area without know how close I was to this trail system. Got both of those accomplished.
Most of the trails here are very flat, so I made pretty good time. The weather never got all that hot, but I was done before 11am. Saw some hikers at the beginning, but then the rest of the day saw mostly bikers. the last person I saw was at the northernmost end of the loop I did on my way back, just south of the Carefree Highway.
Nice to get some higher mileage in for a change and make better time doing it. the Cliff Walk Trail tends to have the best views because of the overlooks on the cliff, but there's not much else to see out here. |
