Finally made it to Gavilan Peak, and another great hike North of town! :y:
I brought a few friends to join in on the fun and this mountain didn't disappoint!
The trail is pretty good to follow in most places and straight up the whole way. Once you get to the ridge, you have two options. Climb the class 3 and 4(mostly 4) rock in front of you, or go around the North scree slope. I chose the climb going up and the north slope going down. I think that was the smart way to go. There are scary spots with the climb; :scared: just take your time and you'll be fine. The rock is pretty solid. The views from the top were amazing and there is a summit register at the top. Someone please bring a pen or pencil as I broke the pen signing in ](*,) . Must've gotten brittle in the sun. This hike was short but sweet! :)
