Four of us drove up to Flagstaff to do some Cross Country skiing. I hadn’t done any skiing in several years and mostly I would downhill hill. I think I’ve only cross country skied 3-4 times. I do remember hating going down any hills. We got our passes and went to check out gear. I was hopeful that they would have backcountry skis but they did not. So off we went with our classic skis. I did pretty well all the while being scared shitless that I would fall. On the uphills I was able to keep up, no problem! Then came the downhill section back to the lodge. I can rappel down a 300+ ft mine shaft with less fear then putting on Cross Country skis and going down a small hill. Let’s just say I fell a bunch. While I had fun (at least I think I did) I was glad it was over.
