| no partners | | I ended up with the day open so I decided to get up on the Superstition Ridge again to enjoy the views. I noticed there was a route up Hog Canyon so I thought I'd give that a try. The route up wasn't bad but I did run into some scree. At one point I slipped and the back of my hand hit an agave and poked a vein. That was a bloody mess for a simple stick but after a few bandages and some duct tape I was on my way. I was happy to be on the ridgeline and saw several hikers but they were spread out so it was not crowded. The I took in the views and watched a helicopter flying around on my way to Siphon Draw trail. When I made it to the flatiron area there were lots of people and I was spent. I stopped there to eat and recharge for the trip down. I started out a little stiff going down Siphon Draw but loosened up about half way down. I passed some guy that looked like Jim_H heading up and from his triplog I'd guess it was him. The final leg across Jacob's trail wasn't bad. I was happy to be on a flat trail and watched the moon over the ridgeline, looked up Spirit Canyon and strolled back to the Broadway trailhead. |
