Thought we would combine segments of Dixie Mine, Coachwhip, Windmill, Bell Pass and Prospector Trails to create a balloon hike of 10.4 miles. Wasn't really expecting much here. The main Loop in the McDowell Mountain Regional park(Pemberton Loop) while fine for a night hike isn't much for day hiking. We were also concerned about the parking. you have to park outside of a gated community and walk 0.6 miles to the actual trailhead.

The parking was fine, and there are restrooms. the walk to the trailhead is well marked and easy enough to follow. The actual hike itself was quite nice. we had some good views, and saw a number of birds. A we were pleasantly surprised by this hike and will do it again.
