| no partners | | I wanted to do the Kachina Trail today but I had business to take care of on the east side of town so I decided to try out the Heart Trail. I accessed it from the Sandy Seep Trailhead. Started at about 9:15 and boy was it HOT! I knew I would have some shade for relaxing at the top so I just sucked on the straw of my Camelbak and pushed to the top. Fortunately some monsoonal clouds were forming over Elden so I was shaded the last half mile to the top. Ate a ham and turkey sandwich with some Death Valley Chipotle flavored Kettle potato chips and enjoyed the aspens quaking in the wind. I'm glad I didn't do Elden Lookout today because the wind must have really been whipping up there. Enjoyed the hike back down immensely, especially with the clouds forming above me. |
