Camping adventure with kiddos. Spent the night at Pocket Spring, really appreciate @LindaAnn for the intel on the options along FR 489. Started up the remaining two-track in the morning, some sections of loose gravel was too much for the 3yo, 5yo & 6yo had no problem. Hit the highpoint first via a direct and regrettable approach. Circled back on the traditional northern side, it was slightly better. Followed up with the mines after, kids absolutely loved those. Lunch at the saddle and then a surprisingly quick descent. Great introduction for them to the area.
