Biked down to the San Tans from home and then decided to explore the area on foot a bit. Started from the end of the road where there are some lots for sale.

Climbed up to a mine shaft that was clearly intended to be imploded, but looks like people have found a way back in; dubbed it the "Hell Hole"; and of course spray painted that on the rock ](*,) I just poked my head in the entrance, but further exploration (if any) will need to await another day when I'm more prepared.

From the mine, I headed East on a use trail toward one of the peaks. At the saddle the trail disappeared, and since I was more set up for biking that off-trail scrambling, I gave up bagging the peak, and instead found a nice "window" in the rock to make my turnaround spot.
