| no partners | | Hiked up to Cache Meadow and the Serene Lake Overlook. I was able to drive part way to the upper trailhead via FR4635, but eventually was stopped by countless down trees that were blocking the road, so I got to do a bit of road walking. Even came across a Subaru that was stuck among the down trees and would need a chainsaw to get free (on my return trip a path had been cut for the car and it was gone).
Despite the road being covered in down trees, the trail itself was in great condition. Didn't hit snow until I hit the Cache Meadow Trail. The meadow itself is nicely melted out. I had a late start and didn't have enough time to make it to Serene Lake, but I headed up the hill to the overlook before heading back down to my truck. |
