| no partners | | | With the Bighorn fire closing down all of my regular trails here in Tucson, I have been returning to the Huachucas, my former stomping ground. I love the scattered mining debris to be found trailside and off-trail if you go looking. The steep climbs are challenging and the downhills provide a bit of rest before the next uphill. There is usually plenty of water to refill the backpack and in the past, I have frequently scared bears away from the water sources as I was approaching. An added bonus is camping up on Carr Canyon. With the temps getting into the triple digits, the campgrounds provide a cool respite. |
