| partners | | I'd never done this one from this end before and it seemed to be a good time to check it out. We got an afternoon start after another hike earlier in the day and passed a couple of groups and some people we knew who were all finishing up as we got started. Another few were climbing within the typical 1/4 mile maximum approach that only us muggles can survive going beyond. From there it was just us and the resident wildlife.
Of course, I'm reluctant to post photos of this lovely place but I'll do it anyway. Such is my definition of reluctance .
Despite the picturesque scenes, it's a very challenging place to hike, and the constant boulder hopping and unsteady footing was brutal and left me completely exhausted after 3 hours. Some things are worth the effort though.
Water flowing here would be nice, but would also likely limit travel significantly as there are several narrow slots that would make for icy cold swimmers. So I'll take the ankle rolling boulder hopping exactly for what it is. |
