The canyon was stunning and the water was flowing nicely! There are a bunch of typical canyoneering obstacles in here that allow you to avoid swimming. Nothing was too challenging or required ropes, although teamwork was helpful with navigating them. You can stay all the way to the left in the middle of the canyon where there are some larger waterfalls. Be prepared to get zapped by a good amount of catclaw on any bypass routes.
Make sure to take some time to stop and look around, admiring the amazing geology around you! There were some helpful cairns, but others were just random and unnecessary; likely caused by different choices for routes during drier conditions. Turn around and head back the way you came once you’ve had your fill. Really beautiful place to be with nice water flow! |
