| no partners | | I did this hike last November, and enjoyed it so I decided to do it again.
Being how it was on a Tuesday, I figured that there would not be many people out, especially since we started early in the morning. Wrong! This hike starts at the same place as a hike to Devils Bridge, and it was like a zoo there. There easily were a few hundred people going to Devils Bridge, but we were the only 2 going to Capitol Butte.
It is a steep climb, and there are a few route finding challenges, but we made it up without much difficulty. The views at the summit are the best in Sedona imho, so we hung out at the summit for over an hour. It was a nice day with comfortable temperatures, and very little wind.
The route finding on the way down was much easier than on the way up; of course, that is normally the case.
This is a fun little hike, and I am glad that I did it again! |

Wildflowers Observation Isolated
There was a fair amount of Gooding's verbena blooming at lower elevations, but that was about it. It is still early for this area though. |
