I have not done this hike in a while, so I decided to take advantage of a relatively cool day and check it out.

The north part of the walking jim loop is much better than the southern part. It is difficult to follow the trail on the southern part, and next time I will likely just do an out-and-back on the northern part of the loop.

I saw 19 wild burros: a group of 12 in the morning, and then 2 groups of 3 and one loner on the way back.

Wildflowers Observation Light
Ocotillo flowers and staghorn cholla were the highlights. There was also some creosote bush and strawberry hedgehog, along with one buckhorn cholla. I did not see any owl clover at all, which is unusual for this area at this time of year.
