I do this at least 2-3 times per year, and it's always a great hike. Only a handful of other folks out there. Probably the best bird list I've gotten on this hike - 31 species, including at least six Townsend's Solitaires, which are having an "irruption year" in AZ this year. Also got Scaled Quail, which was a new bird for the year ... looks like I will finish the year with 246 species - two better than my previous best year!
