Relaxing low-key weekend backpacking to Knoll Lake. Big miles to get there. Enough for several trips, hauling chainsaws, paddleboards, camp furniture, and other amenities. A new moon provided outstanding stargazing at night and the afternoon winds were a bit strong across the lake.

Looped the lake Saturday morning on foot and duplicated the route by a few feet shorter on the board later in the day. Daniel managed to hook a half dozen rainbows and a couple bluegill over the three days. The level is about two feet down from the spring runoff high, but more than I've seen here the past few summers. I always enjoy spending some time here.
