Water was flowing pretty good through Cherry Creek but we made it through the creek with out any problems. The Devils Chasm creek crossing was tricky but we made it across in a stock 4x4 Chevy with out any problems. We made it to the trail head and camped close by. It took us about 2.5 hours to reach the last set of ruins and about 1.25 hours to make it back down. The waterfall was flowing nicely and we saw a ton of Javelina. I would recommend a good set of gloves and long pants when hiking this trail. There are many parts where bushwhacking would be an understatement. On the way back home to Mesa we enjoyed Green Chili Burros from Burger House in Miami. It was a great trip. We plan on going back in a couple of weeks to visit some of the other ruins around the area. |
