Never rained too hard, but when the wind picked up it became a little unpleasant. Went up via the Alta. Trail conditions were actually good, despite the rain. Nice pictures from atop. Took the National over to San Juan Rd. The National was getting muddy so decided to take the road back to the TH. First time walking the road. Allowed for interesting perspectives of the SoMo hills. Noticed mining activity that I hadn’t seen before. Also, noticed that they removed the bench from where the Ramada use to be. (I had noticed that they had removed the ramada about a month ago, but had left the bench. The bench is now gone). Interesting, hiking this trail in this kind of weather. No wildlife. Saw some dog walkers and a family of 6 on the road, but had the Alta and National to myself. |
