| partners | | Whenever I hike with Bruce I have to make sure that he doesn't get any new uniques, so I purposefully came up with up with some random walks that don't exist on a map. It was nice to explore a new area, but overall these canyons were a little bit dull. Evidence shows that water flows here, probably most often during spring snowmelt, but there are many manmade cattle tanks on the ridges above these canyons which seem to indicate that ranchers recognized that these canyons would be dry all summer long.
It was nice to knock out a few miles but the 80% forecast for monsoon fun turned into 100% chance of absolutely sunny and hot so that didn't really play out as desired. The hiking here might not have been as good as some of the nearby drainages, but we learned some things that might put this on the map for future visits. |
