Decided on this loop looking for something close but wanted a few miles to get ready for longer hikes in the near future. I started at 5:30am but didn't need the headlamp because the moonlight was enough. The temps were nice and cool and I made it around to the west side of the mountain before the sun was up. Saw several rabbits and a mule deer along the way. There was rumor of a rattlesnake ahead but those never seem to materialize. Several runners and hikers passed along the way but only one biker on trail. The trail conditions seem unchanged from last time with smooth sections and rocky sections with no overgrowth. Nice morning out and I finished just after 8am while it was still cool.
