| no partners | | This was a fun hike. One I have done a few times before, both by myself and with others. The first time, it was just a stopping place for a bigger hike. It was kinda a difficult hike. It was also my first and only time on Malapais Mountain. It was a great day filled with a rattlesnake and hog nosed skunk. There was some bleeding at that hike and also a few others in this area. The brain works in interesting ways, my hippocampus was in full sensory overload today. My Ammon's Horn felt a little bruised today, but my Dentate gyrus compensated for any malfunction. It's unbelievable how your surroundings can dictate your feelings and put you into visual overload. Has the volume of my hippocampus increased with the fact I've done this hike a half dozen times? Or has it only responded to the spatial aspects.
It doesn't matter if you head to the left or the right of the gatekeeper, you will engage memories which will last. Today, I tried to go one way forward and a different way back and it was always the "right" way to go. Repeat hikes can invoke memories that last a lifetime. Maybe there's a Lion hike or 2 in my future. I talked about you today BrunoP. I miss you buddy. |
