Me and the boy. Took my 7 year old son on a short trip into the forest of maples. This is a beautiful hike. Temperature was perfect in the shade. Warm in the sun. Will post some pics in next couple of days.

Total travel time from Mesa (Signal Butte & Baseline): 4 hours
2.40 hrs Mesa to Safford
1.25 hrs Safford to forest entrance
0.35 hrs to trailhead (high profile vehicle recommended)

This is my gym. I have to travel down a bumpy road to get there. There are no treadmillls, no machines, and no personal trainers. I walk..I run..I breathe the fresh air. I can go any time I want, as much as I want and there is no membership fee.
