The trail directions are perfect and now the trail is being worked on by BLM so it will be in great shape once they are done but it is in good shape to the base of Peak 2992 where the real adventure starts for the day. Once the trail ends there are cairns in place but they will not really help. I just picked my path up through the wash and headed up with only encountering one rough patch of catsclaw that you want no part of. Made my way up quickly to the north end of the false peak and then wrapped around the south right to the summit in just over an hour from the start. Great views of the area which made me thirst for more but just not on this day. Clouds rolling in and light rainfall made it a perfect morning. Headed over to Peak 2992 which is not difficult by any means to get up once you go back down to the saddle. Also at the sign in register BLM has put maps of the area which I will upload. |
