Perfect day to strap on the ol' tennis rackets and go play in the fresh snow. Started at the locked (for the winter) gate at the bottom of the dirt road just where it begins the steep climb up to Lockett Meadow. Around 6-inches of new powder there, a good 12-to-18 inches in Lockett Meadow, finally had to turn around just past the Waterline Trail as it was beyond 24-inches deep and the non-stop postholing was wiping me out. A nice alternate loop return is to exit Lockett Meadow due east and swing around the south and east sides of the Sugarloaf past the gravel pit and back to the car.
