| no partners | | This was my first trip the the San Tan Mountain regional park. I would have never come out this way except that I had to meet my in-laws at a dairy in Queen Creek to pick up my kids. Wow, I had no idea what I was missing. I hiked almost all the trails in the park in one day. Started at sunrise and hiked until 1PM...13 miles in total.
The Goldmine trail was the first one I tackled because I knew it was the only "climb" in the park trail system and I didn't want to do it at the end of my day of hiking. Having Phoenix Mountain Preserves and Camelback practically in my backyard, this trail didn't impress me too much. It is the only designated trail that will get your heart pumping...but it's brief.
I really hope the park adds more trails to the other mountains, especially those in the southwest area of the park. They seem far more interesting that Goldmine mountain. |
