| no partners | | We inherited a cactus plant from a family friend who has cared for the plant for several years. This is Minnesota, so the plant spends the summers outside and as the weather cools for the long winter season, the cactus is then brought inside. The plant was given to us because we have a seasonal home in Apache Junction and as we return this year, we will be bringing the cactus plant with us to transplant at our home.
Researching the plant, I believe it belongs to the Carnegiea family which is a member of the barrel cactus family. There are several blossoms yet to pop out so this is pretty exciting to have a blooming cactus at our home in Minnesota. See my photos.
This has been a very wet spring season here with a lot of rain and wind. I wish we were able to send some of the rains down there where it is needed so bad. I have been following the news of the fire disasters and the recent dust storm in the Southwest and feel so bad about it. |
