| partners | | I got an invite to camp and hike with Grasshopper in an area I had never been and I jumped at the opportunity! I arrived at camp about 2:30 Thursday afternoon while he and Larry were out doing a tough bushwhack. Planned on staying two nights, but extended it to three and did most of the hikes. The downside to this camping area is that it has virtually no shade or level spots. It is quite a dramatic steep drop down to the end of FR346, which I really enjoyed! What you see before your eyes as you approach is pretty awesome. You are close to the Salt River and there is a nice easy way to get there from camp. I went to the river Friday with Hank and Larry, and again Saturday with Randal. At night we were treated to the sound of owls, as they seem to be plentiful around there. I got treated to a steak and corn on the cob by Randal Friday night, then Hank shared linguini and meatballs with salad Saturday night! Such a deal! I provided pots of my high octane coffee in the morning. This was a very enjoyable campout with excellent company. It was good meeting Larry and seeing Randal again. Lots of work goes into executing these type of events. Thank you for the invite and hospitality Hank! |
