Back in February 2013, we had a nice little snowstorm roll through. Some may even remember it as the day that snow came to Scottsdale for the first time in a LONG time. The next day I had a decent break in my schedule so I packed my bag, grabbed the dog, and headed out for a serene experience.

Seeing snow on the cars as I went through AJ was a good sign. When I got to the trailhead, snow was even at the bottom of the wash. By the time I got back, the snow that was at the bottom was completely gone, showing I hit the very fine window to be able to hike in what i did. The hike up was amazing, and it was my dog's first real venture through the snow. The falls weren't running much, but I didn't care that day. The views looking to the Supes and Four Peaks more than made up for the lack of running water. I'll certainly be on the lookout for any other good snow storms, but I don't think I'll ever be able to recreate that experience.
