Great day for having dirt under foot. Headed over to the McDowells and took the Marcus Landslide trail before going up Tom's Thumb to the Thumb and then on to the Ogre's Den.

Besides just a good hike, all the interpretive signs along Marcus was a treat. I like discovering the geology of Arizona more and more. We certainly have a lot of it.

Marcus just wasn't enough for us, so we took a quick stop at the trail head and then started up to the Thumb. Last time up here I looked for the Ogre's Den but really didn't have a clue where it was. Got a little hint and found it with no real problem this time. Unlike the trail on this busy day-before-Thanksgiving, we had the Den to ourselves for a while.

Stopped off at Oregano's in Cave Creek for some celebratory brews and pizza.
