Carried up tripod and shot some photos from the summit as the sun set, experimenting. Not the greatest sunset but OK. The wind sock I saw a few weeks ago attached to the pole was gone again. Paragliders must bring their own, and a friend carries it down. There's another sock by the 7th Ave TH that can usually be seen from the summit. Six others on summit enjoying the nice evening. Came down in darkness using the light on MJ's cellphone. A man in an ascending group warned of a rattlesnake on the trail "150 yards" down. Didn't see or hear anything. We did see a small centipede-like creature later on. Surprised at the number on the trail after dark. Reached the VC at 2024, our car being the only one left in the parking lot. Disappointed the almost-full moon didn't rise above the mountains until after we were in the car headed home. |
