I was walking down the hill yesterday at the zoo with Micah on my shoulders and felt a slight pinch and my heel felt wet. Looked down and my sandal was bloody. I'm not sure what precipitated my heel skin failure, and the only thing I remember recently was slipping briefly crossing the rushing water at Zapata falls, but I was more worried about how cold the water was and my toes. Anyway, I decided to stay close to home and see how it felt. Only time I seem to notice it is going down steep sections where I seem to use my heels more for breaking. I think I skip hiking in sandals until it heals. Otherwise felt much better than the other day energy wise. There was really no pain so it should be good to go.
