A couple of small snow patches before Madcap Falls. Then it's solid snow all the way to Narada Falls. There are a few creek crossings that are somewhat difficult even though there are bridges because of the amount of snow. We the first and last bridge but chose to bypass the middle bridge by finding a spot downstream to cross. If you're going to go past Madcap Falls you should be familiar with the trail or have good navigation skills. Not sure if we would have done it had we not been familiar with the trail. We had microspikes and used them but it's probably doable in just boots -- as long as they are water proof. Earlier in the day the snow was harder which made it easier to walk on. After lunch it became softer so it made it a little more difficult to walk on. Beautiful weather. Too bad some people can't follow the rules and bring their dogs on the trail and fly their drones overhead. On the way home around 2:30 PM there was an almost 4 mile backup to get into the park -- the longest backup we've ever seen! |
