| no partners | | We needed an exercise hike not too far from home to kick off December with. We found this six mile loop at the Sonoran Preserve North posted by @The_Eagle and also by @tibber. If it's good enough for those two HAZ luminaries, it's certainly good enough for the SloFolks. 
Our route is shown in the photoset and we went CCW. It was a nice hike with a climb at the beginning and another near the end. Trail conditions on all the trails leaving the Apache Wash Trailhead always seem to be very good. Things are already starting to green up in the desert and with more rain in the forecast in a couple of days things are looking up for another nice spring bloom.
As I mention in a photo caption, the trail markers in this preserve are really poorly executed. They confuse rather than direct. The designer must be a bureaucrat that has never hiked a day in his/her life. Just go where you think you should go and ignore all the silly unreadable Carsonite posts on the trail. |
