First time on this trail. The TH is clearly marked off the HWY and was in very nice shape. Nice patches of fog all around and most of it was in the direction we were headed which added to the excitment.

The lower portion of the trail from the TH to FS341 sees a lot of cattle activity but otherwise is in great shape. The road walk section, well, goes UP quickly, but then levels off to a nice grade. The road is in very nice shape. Saw some cattle along this section of the hike. The best part of this hike is once you enter Cottonwood Canyon. The trail is very easy to follow and is in great shape considering it weaves in and out of the canyon itself. Nice water flow in several sections and very enjoyable. Topped out at FS83, found a nice spot to enjoy lunch, and then returned the same way. Saw some of the healthiest looking saguaro's I have seen in a long time along this hike.
