Decided to give the western Supes some love and check out a place I've been wanting to see for awhile, Lower La Barge Box. Started from the Canyon Lake TH and headed up the Boulder Canyon Trail. Not hiking on the western side for a bit, I had forgotten how rocky it is. Nice climb for the first couple miles then down into the creek bed. Then the fun boulder hop/climb the rest of the way to the box. Definitely was easier without any water and there were some good footprints that I followed hoping it was the least amount of effort way. :lol: The box is very impressive, why have I waited this long to see it?? Walked the length of the box, then propped myself against a rock, took my shoes and socks off and relaxed by one of the pools for a good 30 minutes. I had the box to myself which was a bit surprising for a Sunday. Passed by several groups on the climb out but not a soul anywhere near the box. It amazes me to see the amount of people hiking up Boulder Canyon trail with little to no water. ](*,)
