I had a nice little hike planned with a gentleman this morning but he called in sick.

I still needed to hike but had no desire to get out of bed. So I mustered up a little motivation, [ youtube video ] and headed on out. I went up Cave Creek and did a CCW loop using Limestone Trail #252. Every time I hike on this trail I say "never again" because the tread is so bad. The beautiful views and solitude always bring me back though.

I stopped at Limestone Spring to catch my breath and then slogged over the saddle and down towards Page Spring. Just after the spring I picked up a cholla grenade on my instep which required un-booting and de-stickering my foot. I would have been screwed without my tweezers.

I got off trail for a bit after that but soon found my way again thanks to Route Scout and the footprints of @Nightstalker 's posse and harem which came through here a couple of weeks ago.

I saw that the desert was starting to leaf out and things should really start looking good in about another month. The parking lot enlargement and upgrades with new curbs looks complete and they have also built a new signed trail from the upper parking lot to the lower lot and TH at the "Jewel Of The Creek" so folks don't have to walk on the road.

	Still decent flow from all the rain two weeks ago. Crossing is easy if you find the right rocks.

	Dry spring box but likely due to a pipe issue. Ground saturated just to the north at the true source in the trees.

	Full spring box with slight over-flow going downstream.
