Ron, Richard and I started the hike from the Black Cross Butte trailhead and walked the trail up to the saddle, then followed the trail west, until we followed the route found on this website to 3042. After reaching the peak, we decided to take the shortcut down to the wash and complete a loop. We continued to a saddle where we could drop down into Crucifix Canyon and follow the creek back to the trailhead. We did see a couple of whitetail deer as we approached the 'Palace' as Ron called it.
Overall, a good hike, but I was a little disappointed. I think the views are just as good from Eagle Bend Overlook and Black Cross Butte.

Wildflowers Observation None
A few Globe Mallow were starting to bloom that I saw along the way. Not much else.
