| no partners | | Hiked to Granite Peak with my friend, Michelle. Trail is in good condition, but a little hard to follow in a few places when it crosses roads. Very scenic once we got over the first ridge. The summit doesn’t seem to get any closer until you are finally within less than a quarter-mile of it. Took a nice break up top, then retraced our steps back down. A little toasty at times, but a nice breeze.
Was glad I made a track of the drive from Wallace to the start of the trail—the roads are not well marked and have some confusing turns. Having the track from last time saved some trial and error. Rough road in places, need at least medium clearance. |
