The old dirt road from Snow Flat to Treasure Park makes a fine stroll on a late Summer day - the weather was absolutely perfect.
I saw zero people all day. There were a couple trailers that had been dropped off at SF to save their spots for the holiday weekend, and as I neared TP I could hear voices - but I turned around before I saw anyone.
On the way back I decided to go off trail and follow the stream down to below the pond - it was rough and I wouldn't recommend it, but it satisfied my curiosity ... I've always looked up there from below and wanted to explore it.
Birding was pretty fantastic, with Fall Warblers migrating through - MacGillivray's, Townsend's, Hermit, Wilson's, etc. |
