The drive up was pretty rough to see the scorched hills. A reburn in some places. Quite a bit of road work has been done so most of it is in good shape. Workman Creek parts are an unmitigated disaster. By some stroke of luck a couple of favorite trees were spared. Above the falls there is a small area of spared maples; the red ones I chased fervently but most were still green. Shhh--don't tell the FS there is a nice unburned area. Drove up to the the fire lookout and walked around. Some hunters set up in the meadows below. Green grass and burned pines. I saw some plastic buckets/ barrels near the orchard area which was burnt. I missed it driving out so did not stop and investigate. The area right below the falls is just torched. The road is in pretty good shape but the gullies coming down is boulder flow central. Quite depressing but what is done is done. There will still be some fall color but it will be very limited.
