| partners | | Part III of our quest to hike the entire length of the Highline Trail. We decided this time to start at the Two Sixty TH and hike west. No one at the TH a little after 8, where it was already 60 degrees with a light breeze. I had worked a football and baseball game the night before and my legs were having one of those days so we hiked a little past the Drew junction, stopping there for a quick break and to talk with a volunteer from this past week's race who was removing the tags from the trees/brush. This section was in great shape with no reroutes (surprisingly), but it was kind of meh for me. Yes, it was a nice forest walk, maybe I'm just too picky.
Winds picked up to 20-25mph mid-morning, and apparently that wasn't gusty enough to cancel the controlled burn the FS started yesterday. Another piece of Highline is done, with still many more to go. |
