All the springs were flowing and there were only a couple of short stretches where there was not water in the draw. Encountered a gaggle of boy scouts Saturday morning and three backpackers Saturday afternoon. Saw a guy on a mountain bike on Sunday, which is the first time I've ever seen that on this trail, but its a well-established trail and seems like it would make a nice single-track ride.
The dogs were also all over some cat feces north of Aspen Springs. There's only one kind of cat I know that lives up there! |

| | This spring flows year-round and bubbles up from an area of moss, small stones, and rare swampy plants. There's two large pine trees which tap the water in a shallow pool that results just a few feet downstream of the spring. Above this spring, Houston Draw is just a dry pine forest canyon, not the green grassy meadows which result below it. |
